About the Training
The Administrator On Call (AOC) has one of the most demanding and important positions at an OPO. The AOC is responsible for the overall management and evaluation of donors and the donation process, including the assignment of staff. He or she provides direct oversight of day-to-day clinical department operations related to the identification, evaluation, approach, authorization, clinical management, allocation, recovery, and overall coordination of donor related activities. In addition to focusing on the daily activities to maximize organ donation, the AOC provides onsite mentorship, training, and education of the OPO's clinical services team.
In this training, presented via Zoom, will address the following AOC concerns:
- Identify the principal attributes that make for a successful AOC
- Setting realistic expectations for case outcomes
- Maximizing team performance through leadership
- Identifying and overcoming the most challenging aspects of the AOC position, including, but limited to: coroner/ME decline; LNOK searches; determining DCD suitability; understanding staff tendencies; and calls with the Transplant Surgeon
- Improving case efficiency
- Understanding a staff member's skills, abilities, and willingness to perform the job
- Identifying and overcoming those areas of decision making that produce the most variability
- Effectively running a shift through proven strategies
- Identifying and utilizing techniques to hold the team accountable
- Improving the weekly AOC case review
The fee is $600.00 per person.
